Zorba's is revived from the family’s first restaurant situated on Central and 6th street, which introduced Greek food to New Mexico in 1972.
The name originated from the novel, Zorba the Greek, written by the 9 time Pulitzer prize nominated, Greek author and poet, Nikos Kazantzakis, first published in 1946.
It is a story of friendship between a young Greek intellectual who attempts to escape his uptight pedantic life and the gregarious, enigmatic Alexis Zorba.
