Having spent almost 20 years in innovative legal practice, including 14 years at a global technology company serving in multiple leadership roles, Youssef uses his passion and experience to enable clients to evolve and navigate digital transformation, especially in financial services, payments and blockchain.Youssef is responsible for focusing and guiding the firm’s growing Blockchain practice, continuing to evolve its vibrant Fintech practice, and driving the strategy to enhance and develop innovative practice capabilities for blockchain and fintech clients.
Youssef leads industry and regulatory outreach efforts and provides thought leadership and counsel to clients on the evolution of law and regulations affecting their fintech and blockchain offerings.Prior to joining Perkins Coie, Youssef served as president of Microsoft Payments, Inc., where he planned, directed and controlled the entity’s overall business strategy and day-to-day-execution.
Prior to joining Microsoft Payments, Inc., Youssef served as the assistant general counsel at Microsoft Corporation’s Legal and Corporate Affairs, where he advised clients on a variety of legal and regulatory financial, commerce, and payments issues.Youssef has a strong background advising clients on a variety of commercial transactions, including procurement, IT and supply chain, with a special focus on commerce and payment services, such as online and offline electronic payment services, prepaid access/stored value/virtual currency and cross-border payment.
Prior to joining Microsoft, he was an attorney in private practice, where he focused on corporate restructuring, reorganization and insolvency.
