The Islamic Center of Lexington Park was first established in July 2001 by 3 Muslims who moved to the area for work.
These founding 3 traveled 45 minutes to Prince Frederick, the location of the closest Masjid, to perform Jumu’ah prayers.
In 2021, April, after years of hoping and praying for an Imam to join our community, Allah sent use Imam Atir.
Imam Atir joined the community on a part-time basis as he continues his studies in Islamic Finance.
Imam Atir currently leads the weekly Jumu’ah, nightly Maghrib, and nightly Isha prayers.
During Ramadan 1441/2021, Imam Atir is leading nightly Tarawih prayers.
