Dr. Khalid Alkimawi earned his medical degree in 2000 from King Abdulaziz University College of Medicine in Saudi Arabia.
He completed an internship in 2001 and an emergency medicine residency in 2005 at King Abdulaziz University Hospital in Saudi Arabia.
He was awarded the prestigious King Abdullah governmental grant in 2005, which is recognized as the highest level of scientific appreciation from the Saudi Arabian government.
In 2011, he completed an internal medicine residency at Steward Carney Hospital in Boston, an affiliate of Tufts University School of Medicine, and then he completed a fellowship in gastroenterology at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, the major teaching hospital for Tufts University School of Medicine, in 2014.
He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

He performs and provides upper endoscopy, colon cancer screening, diagnostic colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, video capsule endoscopy, general consultations, hemorrhoid banding, gastrointestinal motility and reflux studies, and advanced procedures including radiofrequency ablation to treat Barrett's esophagus.
Dr. Alkimawi is a fellow of the American College Of Physicians.
He is a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
